This renovation of and rear-addition to an older, brick single-family home in Lincoln Park also includes a new brick garage with a roof-top garden/deck. The interior of the original house was restored with great care; the stair received a facelift, the plaster crown moulding was repaired and the wood floors and trim were repaired and replaced.

The rear of the house was expanded to create a new open and light-filled space for the kitchen and family room. Linking the house and the garage garden/deck is a steel framed stair and bridge that makes the indoor and the outdoor of the house flow into one another. The second floor was reconfigured to expand the master bedroom suite and create a more useable bedroom layout for this couple and their children.
